We were living with love, peace and harmony,
But it was not written for long in our destiny.
Cruel Britishers came to India as traders,
Planning to become its rulers.
They maltreated Indians and made us their slaves,
Then only we realized the happiness that freedom gave.
Fighting for freedom for more than 160 years,
They made us cry , and shed blooding tears.
Then with the great martyrs’s help,
The Mahatma, Bhagat, Nehru and their friend,
We threw Britishers out to their yelp.
And with this their reign came to an end,
Since that day, we have lived our lives to its fullest,
And have regained our unity to its toughest.
Dare anyone now separate us,
People swear, they’ll be in a great fuss.
To enjoy our freedom we have learnt,
Happiness from the deepest holes, now we will hunt.
In sorrow if any, together we all will summon,
And fulfill the moto, “BEING HUMAN”.
