The Noida-based Society for Sports and Cultural Advancement (SSCA) organised a workshop on ‘Good Touch Bad Touch’ for children. Over 60 children attended the workshop that was held in association with FXB Childline. It was convened by SSCA vice-president Rajeswari Thyagrajan.
The workshop was held at the Community Centre in Nithari, Sector 31, Noida. Children were shown an educational movie on the occasion.
“In over 70 % cases of child sexual harassment, it is someone close to the family who is the perpetrator. This is the reason the children should be educated and guided on good touch bad touch,” said Vimlesh Sharma, president, Society for Sports and Cultural Advancement, addressing the kids at the workshop.
“Children need to be told when and how to escape if someone tries to molest them,” said Childline volunteer Geeta. “And if someone sees something wrong happening to a child, he/she must immediately call 1098,” she added.
Career expert Jayanti Aiyenger spoke about ways to inculcate leadership qualities. “Apart from junk food, children must keep junk thoughts too away from their minds,” she remarked.
