Genesis Global School hosts swimming championship
Genesis Global School is hosting the 32nd All India Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) Swimming Championship from July 13-15. The opening ceremony was held at the school premises today.
Around 22 schools and more than 300 athletes are participating in this competition, from where one separate team will be formed which will participate in School National Games (organized by School Games Federation of India (SGFI)).
Established in 1939, the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) organizes competition and interaction among the member schools to give the students a ‘national exposure’ at an all-India inter-school level.
The Sainik and Military Schools form part of this school conference and these 77 schools have an independent board of governors. Their aim is to facilitate all-round development of students through emphasis on both academics and extra-curricular activities.
Talking about the event, Mr. Pramod Sharma, Director, Genesis Global School said, “We have always laid stress on the balanced amalgamation of academics and sports. Children have vastly varying physical abilities and hence require different types of sports and games.”
“Activities on the playfield develop the qualities of teamwork, leadership, dedication, discipline, self-confidence and self-esteem. Swimming, as a sport requires a lot of strength and determination, which is also a must for a student in today’s world,” he added.
“This event gives our scholars and students of other IPSC schools, an opportunity to showcase their talent and it also provides a platform to children to interact and prepare for excellence in Swimming,” he remarked.
