Innovative Deskits designed by students of SIDBI Incubation Centre, IIT Kanpur were distributed to 250 underprivileged/ poor children, including girls to study comfortably during a conference on the “Present Education System” organised by Roshni – Rojana Shaman Ki Neeti at Constitution Club of India, New Delhi in association with their CSR partner ONGC.

The conference was addressed by the guest of honour BJP vice president Yogita Singh, ex. chairman, Oil India Limited SK Srivastava, industrialist-social worker Subhash Kochhar, Mrs Universe 2015 and member of BOG, NIFT Ruby Yadav and others.

The programme started with guest of honour’s speech and her views on “Issues and Challenges on Present Education System in Metropolitan Cities. Mrs Singh shared her views on complications in girls education in poor and underprivileged families and suggested some of the paths by following which we can encourage girls for literacy. Ashutosh Kumar Jha, president, ROSHNI welcomed and addressed the guests and children about the current issues in the education system such as irregularities and continuous changes in syllabus and lack of co-curricular activities and personality development programmes in government schools.

SK Srivastava, MA Azeem, SP Singh and other guests shared their perspective on outdated syllabus and absence of libraries, laboratories and proper infrastructure in schools, especially in government. The children and guests were entertained by nationally renowned hasya kavi Shambhu Shikhar by his jokes and poems and encouraged by his poetic views on education system. At last, all the guests appreciated the steps taken by all the members of “ROSHNI” towards the uplift of the poor and deprived and continuous hard work done by the team for women and child development. The programme was sponsored by ONGC, NSIC, LIC, Subha Tradex, SSK Advisors and SIDBI.
