Delhi Public School RK Puram organised the Scholar Badge Ceremony of class XII recently. Meritorious students, both, in the fields of academics as well as co-curricular activities, are honoured by the institution. The chairman of Delhi Public School Society and Delhi Public School RK Puram managing committee VK Shunglu was the chief guest on the occasion which was also graced by the principal Vanita Sehgal and the vice principals Dr Renu Nayar and Padma Srinivasan. Also present were Nalin Suri and Poonam Suri who have instituted the Ishwar Chandra Memorial Award in the loving memory of their father.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp. The school orchestra enthralled the audience with a melodious symphony. Ms Sehgal addressed the gathering, emphasising on the theme, The Moment is Now and educating the audience about the importance of putting forward one’s queries and not silencing one’s doubts, by quoting an ancient Chinese proverb, He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; he who does not, remains a fool forever.
A short film, showcasing various achievements of the school in academics, sports and extracurricular activities, was shown which elicited a loud round of applause. The cultural programme consisted of a beautiful dance performance by the students, followed by an enchanting melody by the choir.
Mr Shunglu addressed the gathering and commended the performances of the students. He spoke of the beauty of music and how it has the ability to connect people across ages. He also congratulated the meritorious students and wished them the best of luck for their future endeavours.
