Aparna Yadav

Aparna Bisht Yadav is an active politician and social activist in Uttar Pradesh. Also, she is the daughter-in-Law of Former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav. She is married to Mulayam’s son Prateek Yadav in 2011. She contested the 2017 Assembly elections from Lucknow Cantt. She runs an organization known as bAware, especially working toward women’s rights and empowerment. Aparna has made a significant contribution to the issues related to women.

Aparna was born to a renowned journalist, Arvind Singh Bisht, who is chief of the Lucknow bureau of the Times of India. Mulayam Singh Yadav’s youngest son, Prateek Yadav, was her classmate during her schooling. She became friends with Prateek Yadav during her school days. However, she didn’t know at that time Prateek was the son of Netaji. Initially, Mulayam was not ready for her marriage with Prateek and became ready only after his wife, Sadhana, convinced him.

Being a Politician, She is also an adroit Veena Player and a trained classical singer. She married Prateek in December 2011 and their wedding was attended by renowned personalities and celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan.

In 2014, she praised Narendra Modi for his Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
