Karnam Malleswari Bio

Karnam Malleswari has been appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor of Delhi Sports University. She is a former Indian weightlifter holds the distinguished honor of being called the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Olympics on 19th September 2000, at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. She just not lifted the 110 kilograms and 130 kilograms weight in the ‘snatch’ and ‘clean and Jerk’ categories, but also lifted a veil of India’s Sporting ecosystem, turning the country into a new era. The Indian masses named her ‘The Iron Lady’. Karnam has happily served in the Food Corporation of India as the Chief General Manager (General Administration).
