IPS officer Nina Singh has become the first woman officer in Rajasthan to earn director general (civil rights and anti-human trafficking). She is a 1989-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer who was posted as ADG (Training) in Rajasthan Police.
Neena Singh was born in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Earned an MPA degree from Harvard University, USA. Graduated from Patna Women’s College and did her Masters’s from JNU, Delhi. After this, she started preparing for UPSC and became an IPS officer of the 1989 batch.
She was allotted Manipur cadre after clearing the UPSC exam. Then she married Rohit Kumar Singh, an IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre. After marriage, Neena Singh also got Rajasthan cadre. Her husband Rohit Kumar Singh is presently on deputation to the Centre.
She has received many distinguished honors including the President’s Police Medal. She has served in the CBI for six years. She has investigated one of the most talked-about cases of the country, Jia-Khan case, Bombay Blast, Sheena Bora murder case etc.
In the year 1992, the first posting of Neena Singh took place as the women police station ASP of Jaipur. After this, she also served as SP in Sirohi, Jaipur, and as IG in Ajmer and Jaipur.[table “” not found /]
