Swati Bhargava is the Co-founder of CashKaro.com- India’s largest Cashback & Coupons site. She is honored amongst the top 10 women entrepreneurs in India and is also an acclaimed Social Media influencer. Swati is an alumnus of the London School of Economics and has worked at Goldman Sachs in London for 5 years before starting the UK Cashback business Pouring Pounds along with her husband & Co-Founder, Rohan. She has also represented India at the coveted Blackbox Connect – Female Founders Edition – powered by Google in Silicon Valley, California, and is an active keynote speaker in India and internationally.
After completing their studies at LSE, Swati started working at a company called Goldman Sachs, and she kept working there for around five long years. Eventually, Swati and Rohan got married. One day after marriage, they were booking a flight online for their honeymoon. When they booked the flight through a UK cashback site, surprisingly, they received a cash back amount of Rs 25,000 which was a big shock for them. Since then, they started thinking about how powerful is this cashback thing and how they can begin their cashback portal.
Soon they launched their cashback portal in the UK, but the success they got in that business was not more significant than the success they achieved with CashKaro. They realized the potential of this cashback business model in the Indian market and launched their portal in India too with the name of CashKaro. Quickly they started receiving good traffic on their portal and people were using their portal to save some extra bucks while they are shopping online.
CashKaro caught fire; it started growing tremendously. Swati and Rohan began to meeting investors to receive funding for their company and finally, they landed up getting funds from India’s one of the most prominent business tycoon Mr. Ratan Tata. They also received Rs 25 crores worth of funding from Kalaari Capital. Now they have a big office with more than a hundred employees, and they are serving millions of online shoppers in India.
